£1M+ ADDITIONAL REVENUE FOR A TRADE E-COMMERCE GROUP
A building products manufacturer running four niche e-commerce stores asked me to fix declining sales, abandoned baskets, messy product data, and a broken customer journey.
THE CHALLENGE
The goal was clear: recover lost revenue, modernise four outdated stores, and create a repeatable e-commerce system that actually serves trade buyers.
Key Issues:
- Baskets weren’t recovered: No follow-up flows or prompts.
- Messy product data: Inconsistent attributes made filtering impossible.
- Brand fragmentation: Four stores, four identities, no cohesion.
- Weak trade UX: Buyers couldn’t bulk order easily.
- Zero visibility: No insight into where buyers were dropping off.
WHAT I DID
- Built Custom Cart Recovery: Using Zapier and email automation, I built a system that recovered £725k in tracked online orders (plus est. £300k phone orders).
- Managed & Rebranded All Stores: Visual refresh, improved navigation, and better product hierarchy across 4 sites.
- Rebuilt Product Data: Standardised data across thousands of SKUs to fix filtering and search.
- Fixed Technical SEO: Schema, indexation, internal linking, and performance clean-ups.
- Revenue-Generating Email System: Automated sequences and promotional campaigns tied to actual revenue.
- Sales Outreach Automation: Notified Sales Managers when high-value customers abandoned carts or downloaded brochures.
- Continuous Optimisation: Weekly funnel analysis and UX tuning for consistent growth.
THE RESULTS
“Dan transformed our entire e-commerce operation. The cart recovery system alone generated hundreds of thousands in recovered orders. On top of that, he rebuilt our product data, improved our UX, and put structure into our email marketing that delivered revenue every single week.”
